Padding
Padding is essentially wadding formed with natural or synthetic fibre, placed in ordered layers and which undergo a process of thermal solidification (thermal-fusion of the fiber) that tends to give the padding the fundamental characteristics for the use to which it is destined, such as elasticity, softness and durability. The product is later transformed into formats that are able to be marketed, such as rolls, packs of slabs, etc., that are appropriately packaged in order to be destined in the best possible way to the various sectors of use (see "Transformation machines"). TECHNOplants has recently created a new material for padding called FIBERfoam. FIBERfoam is produced by an innovative process: the fibers are shaped into multidimensional spherical bodies and then formed into a continuous mattress and finally thermo bonded. The result is a foam-like material with an excellent elasticity. The main sectors of use:
